Chamo-me Sveta e vivo na Inglaterra.
Sou 9 semanas gravida.
Nao falo portugues muito bem ainda - posso escrever em ingles?

Me and my husband (he is Portuguese) are going to move to Portugal next week.
As this is our first pregnancy - we do not know much about doctors and hospitals in Portugal.

We are going to live in S. Domingos de Rana (Cascais) - what is a good hospital to follow the pregnancy and delivery?
Is HSFX hospital taking those who live there?


Can anyone recommend a good doctor?
I am particularly interested in vertical delivery method - do you know if it is practiced in Portugal and maybe you know the doctor?

You can write in Portuguese - my understanding is much better than writing

Hello Sveta.I´m also from S.Domingos de rana. I´m not sure, but I think that Maternidade Alfredo da Costa in Lisbon has vertical birth method. I was told that they have the labour chair. In Porto, I think Hospital S.João, you also have other methods such as labour in water.
I´m going to give birth I hope in HSFX,many testimonies say the staff and instalations are spectacular. Hospital de Cascais never again will I set foot in that Hospital,simply horrible my experiences there, and it´s a very old Hospital in bad conditions,but you can always visit and check for yourself,not even a simple cheap tv in a room and the bathroom is the same one for everyone in the maternity.
